This is the Japanese movie of the year... and they should have showed it during Venezia Film Festival...Machine Gun Machiko is a sexy comedy based on a famouse ecchi manga from the 80s starring idols like Momoko Tani and Yuri Morishita... Machine Gun Machiko is REAL Japanese cinema (and finally a Japanese director understood that a movie without pachira is not a movie at all)!

(via Danny Choo) The manga Sundome (すんドめ), created by Kazuto Okata and published by Akita Shoten, makes it to the big screen with the gravure idol Akane Suzuki as the main character.  Hideo Aiba (Atsuji Ninomiya) is a reserved and obedient high school student who spends all his energy on masturbating. When a new student, the super sexy Kurumi Sahana (Akane Suzuki), joins the same after-school club in which he is a member. Now I wait for a midnight drama adaptation so we can contemplate  "better" Akane chan!!
The cast of the movie includes Hana Tsugihara, Kenichi Takada, Takuma Sueno,  Kenji Yoshikawa, Yoichi Nukumizu, and Takatsugu Iwama.

I just found the very first trailer of Amano Ai (official blog) first Tokusatsu movie:  Metal Princess Kyuo (メタルプリンセス キュオ). The director of this new "super heroine" master piece is Takauji Motoharu from the legendary Shin Iizawa's Zen Pictures. Cos-More has posted a super kawaii photo gallery of "the Movie Making of " and here you can download the Trailer (Windows Media Video format).

Tokusatsu (特撮, Tokusats) is a Japanese word that literally means "special effects." The term is a contraction of the Japanese phrase "tokushu satsuei" (meaning "special photography") and It is primarily used to refer to live-action Japanese movies and television dramas that make use of special effects. Metal Princess Kyuo DVD will be released on 23th November and I really look foward to watch Ai chan fighting to save our Planet!

According to Hollywood Reporter, commercial director Joseph Kosinski is in final negotiations to develop and direct "Tron" described as "the next chapter" of Disney's 1982 cult movie classic. Sean Bailey is producing via the Live Planet banner, as is Steven Lisberger, who co-wrote and directed the original film. I hope this time they wil really make it! Meantime I will read the Tron Comic from SLG Publishing.
