di Frankie (02/05/2008 - 01:52)

Ai Flower hasd just posted a couple of nice Miku kigurumi photos! Now things are getting weird: a virtual idol cosplayed by a male cosplayer who would like to be an anime girl...
ROBOT COSPLAY
di Frankie (02/01/2008 - 00:40)

During Robone contests in Japan I saw many robot wearing anime character costumes, but this one spotted by Robot Watch is on a different level and I think is the first example of true robot cosplay (or maybe I'm just too much in love with Hatsune Miku...)
VOCALOID 2 Miku Costume
di Frankie (01/26/2008 - 00:10)

I just found this Hatsune Miku costume on Ebay. The quality is not great but it's preatty cheap (it's just $45.99) so I think I'm gonna buy a special present to my girlfriend for St. Valentine!

RETRO JAPAN: COMIKET IN 1985
di Frankie (12/08/2007 - 11:41)

(via Haimaki) Wow! It's impressive to watch how otaku culture was already alive and kicking in Japan more than 20 years ago when the western geekdom was still trapped into the Marvel super heroes universe... 1985 was a special year for Comiket since in that year Yoshihiro Yonezawa established the Comiket Ltd. to better manage an event that was already getting big and in the same year the female presence among attendees started to rise thanks to the success of Yaoi phenomenon linked to Captain Tsubasa parodies...

COSPLAY: SEXY XMAS - 2
di Frankie (12/08/2007 - 00:30)

I just found out that also the cult Akiba shop M's Pop Life Department got a great selection of sexy Christmas costumes. (old "sexy xmas" post here). M's is my favourite audlt shop in the world. What makes this shop unique is that it has been created to attract sukebe oyaji like me but also couples interested in discovering new ways to have fun sex. The Japanese artist Mizuno Junko has collaborated with several project produced by M's (actually I think this kind of collaborations are way cooler than the "traditional" marketing projects made by KidsRobot or other so called streets brands).
If you don't know this Akiba sex temple you should take a look to this great reportage by Akibamap (translated by Sweat Pink blog).

COSPLAY: SEXY XMAS
di Frankie (11/30/2007 - 01:19)

As announced in this post the japanese cult label Vap has released a "compilation album" (for the 150th anniversary of Jingle Bells ) with the collaboration of some of most famous Japanese otaku artists like the new Akiba Superstar Aya Hirano (wiki) "Love Gun" from Death Note and Lucky-Star. I'm in full Christmas mode playing Christmas Nights on Sega Saturn so I started browsing japanese shops for the perfect sexy Christmas costume like the one dressed by Japanese companions...

More costume here...

SEXY COSPLAY: Queen Blade!
di Frankie (11/20/2007 - 02:16)

Ops, I missed this great release from the lovely "Kimino Yume " (that in Japanase sounds like "Your Dream". This a perfect name for an AV actress. Isn't it?).
DOUJIN: Miku on Nintendo DS!
di Frankie (11/06/2007 - 12:25)

There are already two doujin soft for Nintendo DS dedicated to (Vocaloid 2) Natsune Miku. These DS homebrews has been released during Vocaloid M@ster event held last saturday in Tokyo. One is Mikutsun Vol.1 and one is DS Miku.
This is a preview video shooted a month ago when Miku Stun has been spotted in Akibao (a famous underground shop in Akihabara). To run these homebrews on your DS you need R4 or our supoer favourite NeoFlash MK5.

Miku Video of the Week!
di Frankie (10/26/2007 - 02:01)
This is the video of the week: Hatsune Miku cosplay and anime song cover of LUM chan!!
These Miku videos ranked 2nd and 3rd in my personal Weekly Miku chart! I'm pretty sure that this winter negi will be the bestselling vegetable in Akiba!! As reported by Zepy (via Moonphase) Hatsune Miku manga called Hatsune Mix! will start serialization in Comic RUSH starting from the 2008 January issue. The author is going to be none other than KEI, the artist who did the original character design for Hatsune Miku.

Akibablog spotted several ero doujin mangas dedicated to Miku chan!
OTAKU SEASON: WONFES 2007
di Frankie (09/29/2007 - 06:58)
After the last week Tokyo Game Show the "Otaku Season" is officially over so I decided to post a preview of this otaku documentary shooted and edited by our friend Antonio Mariani during the Wonderfestival (the DVD should be out in the next months). It features tons of garage kits, dolls, cosplayers and a (very) short interview with the legendary Danny Choo (and in a couple of scenes you can spot the superstar otaku photographer Julie from Samurai Girl photobook)!
ANIGAO: KIGURUMI COSPLAY BAR
