Today, walking into Shibuya's Tower Records I found this pretty cool Grindouse promotional poster for Toho cinemas in Roppongi Hills.

Today italian blogger and comedian Beppe Grillo trought his Blog has organized the world biggest bloggers demo against the illegal situation of the italian parlament. You can read more here.
There is also a really cool online version of the demos that will be held in several italian cities with more than 200.000 people who signed!

RaidGig (the tokyo  shop for fashion conscious gamers since 2001) is now taking pre-orders for the 2007 version of the T-shirt that 12 years ago started the craze for Famicom/ 8bit design (it was s a best seller in shops like kichijoji's "Shop 33", Shibuyas's "Tribute" and Mandary in Nakano). The design has been made by the legendary Quentaro "Ani" Fujimoto member of "Nendo Graphic Squad" since 1993, Graphic designer, 8bit Nintendo Collector and Buddhist (italian readers will read more about him in a the coming issue of GAMERS magazine). Ani is famous for his Famicom Tibetan style tshirts and since than worked on many projects related to videogames and otaku culture. It's courious that the man that created the very first site dedicated to Akiba called www.re-tokyo.com (produced by Fujitsu) in the mid-nineties got a super low profile online right now... but maybe this is part of his legend!

The blog that started it all, Boing Boing (created by Mark Frauenfelder and his Carla Sinclair) has just been a redesigned (by Jemma Hostetler of Studio Sans Nom) with the return of user comments and the craetion of a brand new sideblog about gadgets and personal technology.
Boing Boing started to broadcast new meme in 988 as a magazine that has been influencial in developing the "digital culture" of the beginning of the nineties...

KitaKyushu - July 17th, Tmsuk Corporation (read TEMKAZU) announced the rescue robot “T-53 ENRYU” which has been developed to be used in case of disasters as a rescue robot.  This robot (size 140×232×280cm and 2.95t of weight) looks like coming out from the design sketches of our old friend Junji Okubo (mecha designer of the legendary Steel Battalion for  Xbox and author of the mechabook INDUSTRIAL DIVINITIES). Thanks to the official support of the government it's possibile to acquire an official "robot vehicle number"  so travelling on a normal road is legal for the first time. 


KitaKyushu - Il T53 è un HYPER RESCUE ROBOT realizzato dalla giapponese Tmsuk per essere utilizzato in situazioni di emergenza dove la presenza umana non è possibile.  Questo robot sembra uscito da uno dei disegna del nostro vecchio amico Junji Okubo (mecha designer del mitico Tekki per Xbox e autore del libro Industrial Divinities).
Grazie ad un accordo con il governo giapponese il T53 può anche essere dotato di una speciale targa per robot che permette a questo gioiello meccanico di circolare legalmente sulle strade!

 Ieri a Roma, presso la galleria d'arte Mondo Bizzarro (accanto all'aerea espositiva c'è anche un'ottimo shop in cui troverete la selezione delle migliori riviste internazionali e alcuni toys niente male), c'è stata la presentazione dell'edizione italiana del manga book "Cinderalla"  della geniale artista giapponese Mizuno Junko.
Vi consigliamo di leggere l'intervista realizzata dal simpaticissimo Enrico di Huragano. Ci sono anche le foto dell'evento ed, Enrico, ha anche immortalato il momento sacro in cui Junko ha firmato il nostro toy!
Noi intervisteremo quest'arista a Tokyo a fine estate sperando di poterla ritrarre all'interno del leggendario shop di Harajuku 6% Doki-Doki (ndf Junko ha lavorato in questo negozio dove alcuni anni fa ha anche allestito uno studio. Si tratta di un negozio molto particolare che frequentavo regolarmente, per rimorchiare le commesse, quando lavoravo ad Harajuku per una ditta di videogiochi).

Oggi presso il Gallery Shop MunkyKing vengono presentati i nuovi toys del geniale designer romano TokiDoki (Simone Legno).  Simone che è un grande amante del Giappone (e delle sue bellezze femminili) vive a Los Angeles dove sta creando una sua linea di toys e gadget sotto con il brand Tokidoki. Fra i suoi clienti Toyota, Mtv Asia, Mtv Italia, John Galliano, Telecom, TIM, Central Narcotic Bureau of Singapore, Renault, Alessi...

Da qualche giorno è iniziata la mostra Devil's Sweet Smile organizzata dai giapponesi  Furi Furi presso la leggendaria galleria Taiwanese Pixie.
I Furi Furi hanno recentemente partecipato all'evento MTV Toy dedicato ai 10 anni di MTV Italia e per l'immagine di questo progetto hanno deciso di collaborare con la nostra Julie (autrice del photobook Samurai Girl e senior photographer delle riviste Hobby Media) che in questa occasione ha partecipato sia come fotografa che come modella. 
Lo stile di Julie, in cui realtà e finzione otaku si mescolano diventando indistinguibili, è perfetto per i toys realizzati da Tei dei Furi-Furi e secondo noi la serie di toys-photo nata da questa collaborazione farà scuola nella scena dei vinili urbani.
