Recently I realized how many "experts" of OTAKU and Japanese POP culture are totally out of touch with the Japanese scene and are spreading fake informations and totally inventing trends like: "Akiba is dead, the new otaku mecca is Nakano"! Actually while they were telling that Mandarake in Nakano Broadway was the new center of the Japanese geekdom the very same company who is running the shop was building a huge multifloor otaku supermarket in Akiba...
I'm not an expert but I think that if you come for few days/weeks a year to Japan (to cover events like TGS and TAF) you are not able to understand how things really evolving and so should not spread your feelings like real news...

Sorry for my rantling: looks like I'm getting old but anyway... don't FRAK with Akiba!

My old friend and super sweet Japanese Idol Amano Ai made a private video dedicated to her love for 8bit videogames! She is a cosplayer (and a well know underground photographer) so she made the Famicom bikini few minutes before shooting the her new video called PLASTIC CANDY!

Beside being a Japanese sexy Idol she is a retrogaming maniac and underground photographer (under the name of Julie). Her photos, like the ones from SAMURAI GIRL photobook, always feature techno feticism (8 years ago she has been the very first photographer taking photos of semi nude videogame girls)

Dundeejam ha created a GameBoy Audio emulator. You can download Reason Patches and load em in to Reason (if you want you can use also the free demo version) to play with a virtual Game Boy sound chip! After, download Ableton Song Files  (Reason is controlled trough Ableton to create a song).
